The building‘s name “Mary Allan Building” was taken from a prominent female member in Homerton’s history Ms Mary Millar Allan, who was the first woman to lead our college. She was responsible for Homerton's renowned national reputation as a female only training college but fast forward to modern day Cambridge and Homerton is now a fully-fledged constituent college within Cambridge’s prestigious University, offering a full spectrum of courses from art to medicine.
The MAB (Mary Allan Building) houses a flat floored Auditorium, one of the larger function rooms available within the Cambridge Colleges- it seats up to 260 delegates theatre style and 110 in cabaret. Due to the lack of tiers or any racked style of set, the flat floor and dimensions allow great flexibility of set up, thus lending itself to a variety of layouts and uses.
