About Homerton
Renowned for academic excellence, Homerton is equally recognised as an established conference, corporate and private function venue, regularly hosting events of all sizes.
The College was founded in 1730 as a Dissenting Academy, established at Homerton village just outside London. The Academy was then subsequently rebuilt in 1768, following this rebuild in 1824 the Academy was then renamed 'Homerton College'.
In 1894 as East London became increasingly industrialised, Homerton College relocated to Cambridge to the Cavendish College buildings it currently occupies and which form part of the modern campus development. In the late 1990s the College underwent a massive redevelopment and converged with University of Cambridge in 2001.
Homerton is one of the most attractive colleges in Cambridge, with a mixture of old and new buildings set in spacious wooded grounds away from the noisy centre of town. It benefits from some of the most attractive, well-equipped and flexible conferencing and events facilities in the region. All of its accommodation has been either rebuilt or refurbished to a high standard within the last ten years.
